Very disappointed in you coach. I wonder if any of the guys you recruited were told you would be there for them till they graduated. In college students are there to learn lessons of all kinds. I guess this will be a hard lesson but one that will serve them well. Go team and remember we are really proud of you, the first team at 15 seed to make it to “Sweet Sixteen”!

I just love watching the Florida Gulf Coast University players enjoy themselves in the NCAA Tournament. They are the first 15 seeded team, to make it to the “Sweet Sixteen”. I have a sweet spot for them because they actively recruited my son David Ashwell , in their inaugural Basketball season. I also love that most of the country does not even know where the university is located,Fort Meyers,Florida. Their fan base also consists of retired folks who also just enjoy the way the team openly enjoys their victories. They enjoy the game and they enjoy the victories in a humble fun way. It is refreshing to see players who appear as though they are thrilled to be in the ”Sweet Sixteen” and not acting like their participation, was a given fate, as it seems other participating teams do. F.G.C.U. Guys “you rule”and thanks for the ride, I am hoping that the season for you ends with a national title!!! Please enjoy this video from sudents at F.G.C.U. celebrating their team in the “March Madness” tournament.
Two teenagers ejected from car when broadsided by driver who fails to stop
Two Lakewood Ranch seniors in high school died on Christmas after being ejected from a truck. Please people, when you get into a vehicle automatically put your seat belt on. In many of these cases where people are ejected from the vehicle they were riding in, for the most part they were not wearing a seat belt. A child dies at the age of 18 years old on Christmas day, this opens way too many hurts to begin to count. When you enter a vehicle the first thing you need to do is to buckle your seatbelt. The second thing you need to do is make sure all cell phones and electronic devices are out of reach! Thousands of people are in accidents due to using a cell phone. Many of these people were also not wearing their seat belts! People please, make a new years resolution to wear your seat belt and put your cell phone in the back seat. God bless and a healthy and blessed new year to you and yours. Please don’t ruin this coming year by being in an accident that could of been prevented. Please don’t have a member of your family or a beloved friend have to go to your funeral and deal with losing you because you did not wear your seat belt! Th

Thankyou for your friendship, love and loyalty. I was blessed when God gave me a friend, as loyal and loving as you. We have been through a lot together! I am a better person for knowing you. God bless always and thankyou for your friendship of which I treasure as one of my greatest blessings. The song below sums it all up on what my friend Penny has been for me a true friend, happy birthday Penny!
I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Michigan. On my trip to Michigan, I got to visit some of my favorite places, like White Castle, and Big Boys, both restaurants I can not enjoy in Florida. I have lived for the last sixteen years without the close proximity of these locations of food and nostalgia. Of course during my visit I did visit with my dear family and friends. My trip to Michigan for me is a trip down memory lane. I get to take a walk back to visit places that have held fond memories of my youth and associations with my family. Sanders Bakery and Ice Cream Parlors, are especially dear to me. My brother James, told me one day while visiting him in Clawson, Michigan, that a Sanders store had opened up for business in nearby Birmingham, Michigan. I was thrilled, to hear this great news. Sanders, has been on a downward spiral in the retail world. Now enjoying a resurgence and the opening of this new Sander’s is fantastic news to all of us who miss this quality of service and unique product line. There is no hot fudge topping like Sanders hot fudge topping. I also remember the fine cakes and pastries that my family picked up at their Highland Park, bakery. The famous chocolate bump cake still conjures up yummy thoughts. One of my earliest jobs was that of a waitress at Sander’s , Universal City Mall, Warren, Mi. I loved the job and the people I worked with, Isabell, Stella, and my manager, Mrs. Bila. The people at that store were like one big family. I went to their children’s weddings, and they gave me a going away party for college. I still think of Colleen, who as assistant manager helped me with all training anyone could want. Colleen, came to visit me at college. So dear readers, you can see why I cherish the Sanders stores and hope if you are given the opportunity, will visit them so this wonderful organization will continue to stay in business and thrive in this modern-day climate of speed over service. Please see following link for information on retail outlets that carry Sanders products and how to order them over the internet! God bless.Patsy McCaw-Yager, Englewood,Fl

Madam foreman of the jury, please cease giving interviews that make you look silly or at the least very unaware of what your job as the eleventh juror on the murder of Caylee Anthony trial was. With that being said, I will not mention the name of “tot mom”. I believe that often these perpetrators of heinous acts of cruelty ,crave fame and enjoy the media attention over their sociopathic behavior. Now back to jurist no. eleven, Madam foreman, with the logic of this argument of no definite way the victim died you could not convict, then no mob trial would find the accused guilty!
The system is not broken, it just needs to really be explained to our jurists who serve. The legal system is not wrong. The jury pool is being filled with people who do not understand what ”reasonable doubt ” is. Caylee Anthony is gone. Caylee Anthony is dead. Last seen with mother by grandfather,Caylee Anthony found decomposed in garbage bag in swamp. What is there to figure out? Would any normal person not call the police when their child is drowned in a pool. Wouldn’t a normal person do anything to save their child? Please People!!!
My parents loved to read, I love to read, my husband is a reader and my children enjoy reading. As a single mom raising my children the library, was also a source of hours and hours of free entertaining activities. I often visited the library for holiday functions, magic shows, puppet shows, visiting authors, and free rentals of movies,, puppets, cds, videos, and puzzles for both my children and for me. I believe in this economic time even those with discretionary funds are finding the library a source to help them stay in their budget guidelines or for those with very limited resources a life line for themselves and their families. I loved purchasing and still do items from the “Friends of The Library” store. At the store I can buy magazines, and books for nominal prices at the same time I am supporting my local Englewood and Port Charlotte, Florida, libraries. One of my favorite memories was visiting the library of my hometown Highland Park, Michigan to see the movie “The Red Balloon“! I still love getting my free book markers at the library, often printed with useful civic or recycling information. The library has also been a place in our United States of America, that served as a refuge for future leaders and educators as well as entertainers who saw the library as an escape from poverty, or abuse at their homes. So dear friends, summing it up, it is never too late to experience the joys of your local libraries and also if you can support them in some monetary fashion, that would be super. My daughter is now a published author of the novel “The Life of Mouse”,by “Taren Wilson”. Taren as a young child won summer reading contests at the library. I now am on the way to the library, to see members of the State of Florida. Agricultural Division, they volunteer on Thursday to answer questions about Florida, vegetation. God bless, Patsy McCaw-Yager. Englewood.Fl.
Every time I visit the Puffy Paws thrift store I find something I need! I also have donated several items to them to help “save the kitties“.
http://www.puffypawskittyhaven.com/ Please check out the site , for ways to save the kitties. A no kill shelter of over two hundred kitties. Rick and Chrissy, husband and wife team do not turn any kitties away. Puffy Paws takes in sick kitties and their veterinarian bills alone are a huge chunk of their monthly budget. They have loyal contributors and are always working on ways to bring money in to keep the Puffy Paws Kitty Haven above the red line. The thrift store is one way they raise money, they also have several other ways to give. Ebay, Facebook, are two of the many sources that Rick uses to raise money for much-needed supplies and to pay the bills. Chrissy is the main caretaker for over 200 cats!!! Yes, Chrissy takes care of 200 cats daily needs! Rick and Chrissy are heroes in my book, for their never-ending dedication to this cause of saving felines, often kitties no one else will take in. Englewood, Fl. is blessed to have this couple and their volunteers in their community.
The last time I saw my poppa at David and Stephanie's wedding
My dad instilled in me a love for all kinds of music. He loved The Irish Tenors, but he also counted Bocelli, Mariah Carey, George Strait, Josh Groban, and several Motown greats among his favorites. Poppa loved God, Jesus, his family, our country. a good meal, his Irish descent, serving as a Marine during world war II, his career as a police officer, and the simple things in life. A man of honor, my poppa never thought being wealthy was possesing of material goods, he was wealthy in the “stuff” that really counts. To say I miss my Irish poppa, is an understatement. I lost my momma at the age of 32 years old and my poppa survived her over 20 yrs. I as a single parent, moved to Florida, with the goal that poppa, would help instill in my son the values he did for his sons. My poppa did that and more, he did a great job in helping me raise my son David Ashwell, and the last time I saw my poppa was at a blessed event, his grandson David and Stephanie’s wedding . I am so thankful that we were all together for the wedding. My poppa taught David my son, values like the following, standing up for the flag, crossing your heart at singing of our national anthem, there are far too many to mention. To help the less fortunate was a mantra for my pappa. He loved that he ” was a Marine”, excuse me a Marine. My poppa said “once a Marine, always a Marine”! So true. My poppa’s own father was not around much when he was growing up. He learned how to be a good pappa from his mom. My dad was so proud of all his grandchildren. He would love the fact that his grandaughter Maureen Case graduated from college and that completed the feat of all his grandchildren with the accomplishment of college degrees. Taren Wilson, author of “The Life of Mouse” special ed teacher was his first and he lighted up like a candle when he rocked her and sang “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling“. David Ashwell my son, Daniel and Patrick McCaw are the sons of my brother Dan, and Tom and Maureen Case the children of my sister Sheila, or babe as we know her kept him going after my momma passed on.
grandsons,Daniel,David,Patrick,Thomas
David became a poppa 6 months ago to Autumn and I know he will be a great one, he after all had a wonderful example of what it is to be a family man and a father in my poppa James McCawSr.
